Prague Beyond the Pretty - Where Events Deliver

This April, we had the pleasure of being hosted by Prague Convention Bureau for a spring FAM trip in one of Europe’s most enchanting cities -Prague. From historic landmarks to contemporary venues, curated experiences to exceptional hospitality, the itinerary was designed to showcase the very best the city has to offer for meetings, events, and incentive travel.
Arrival & Warm Welcome
Guests arrived at Václav Havel Airport Prague and were transferred to the stylish OREA Hotel Andel’s Prague. The evening began with a warm welcome dinner at the hotel’s Delight Restaurant, offering the perfect opportunity for attendees to unwind, connect, and set the tone for the days ahead.
Day 1: Iconic Prague & Premium Hospitality
The first full day kicked off with a site inspection of OREA Hotel Andel’s Prague.
OREA Hotel Andel’s Prague is a modern hotel in the Anděl district with just over 200 contemporary rooms, well suited to business and group stays. It offers flexible meeting spaces for mid sized events, along with a fitness area. The on-site Delight Restaurant provides a relaxed setting for group dining, breakfasts, and informal networking
From there, we were surprised by some beautiful 1930s-style convertible replicas (Praga / Mercedes-style) cars where we travelled in style to the Prague Castle district. Here we met with DZK Travel who took us for a guided tour around this district. This immersive experience included a coffee break at the stunning Lobkowicz Palace.
Lobkowicz Palace, located within the Prague Castle complex, is a 16th-century palace owned by the Lobkowicz family and now used as a museum and event venue. It hosts private dinners, receptions, and concerts in elegant historic rooms. We experienced the breathtaking views on the terrace which offered panoramic city views whilst we sipped our coffee. The palace is still family owned; it is not used as a residence today.
The next stop was the Fairmont Golden Prague, alongside a site inspection of this prestigious property, where many VIP guests and celebrities have stayed. It is 5 star hotel on the Vltava River with around 320 rooms and suites, combining modern luxury with its original brutalist design.
It has six restaurants and bars, including the standout roof top restaurants Zlatá Praha rooftop restaurant, with Golden Eye next door. Golden Eye has a darker, moodier feel with a 70s-inspired design, with finishing touches of brass, mirrors, and low lighting, more lounge and late-night energy. The Zlatá Praha is the opposite: lighter, more refined, and understated, with a clean, elegant look. This has a tasting menu concept. There are stunning roof top views from both restaurants. There is also an outside terrace should you want to dine alfresco and take in more of the stunning views of the city.
The large spa and wellness facilities are a major draw. It has Prague’s only indoor and outdoor pool as well as a tranquil green area outside.
It has some great event space, including a Grand Ballroom and multiple meeting rooms, some with terraces and floor to ceiling windows.
The afternoon continued with visits to several standout hotels, including NH Collection Prague Carlo IV and Andaz Prague, each offering unique styles and high-end event spaces.
We were treated to lunch in the Greenhouse which is a café-style lounge, with floor to ceiling windows and a glass roof. It is a versatile space, or a mix of fine dining, casual and private dining options.
The cultural exploration continued with a private tour of the Mucha Foundation Art Museum. We were taken to one of the event rooms in the museum where we were told we would be having an art experience. Whilst we were served refreshments and canapes we were told we would be having our own private performance from a cello musician from Catalyst Czech Republic. We were surprised and delighted. After this beautiful performance we were then told that we were going to have a cello lesson. I think we were all shocked as we really did not expect this treat. The teachers from Catalyst Czech Republic were amazing, talented, patient and miracle workers. They did manage to get us to play some music. After this, there was a further surprise. We had a violin lesson too! Having never played or held a string instrument, the whole experience was moving, amazing, heartwarming, fun, amazing and something I will never forget. I will cherish this memory and have learnt you can teach an old dog new tricks!
We ended our day at SIR Prague Hotel with a quick site inspection, followed by dinner at Seven North restaurant.
Seven North at SIR Prague is bold, with eclectic design. It has an open kitchen, rustic paper-covered tables with a social vibe. The concept is Mediterranean sharing plates, seasonal, ingredient led dishes designed for the table. This all gets washed down well with delicious cocktails and wines from southern Europe.
We were hosted by Sir Hotel for dinner. The food was locally sourced, traditional food, which was fresh, delicious and amazing. The staff were attentive and offered a VIP service.
Day 2: Storytelling, Experiences & River Views
Our first stop was with Prague City Tourism who gave us a guided tour titled “Following in the Footsteps of Dan Brown,” exploring Prague’s Old Town of places featured in Dan Brown’s new book The Secret of Secrets. We started at the Prague Astronomical Clock, also known as the Orloj, which dates back to 14:10. This is in the Old Town Square on the Old Town Hall.
We took in the Pinkas Synagogue which is iconic due to the memorial which displays 78,000 handwritten names on the walls of the synagogue of Czech and Moravian Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. We walked through the graveyard to see the grave of Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel, often referred to as the Maharal of Prague who was commonly linked to the Jewish folklore of Golem – a man made from clay, brought to life through mystical rituals. He was the protector of Jewish people in Prague. After this we went to the oldest synagogue in Prague - Old-New Synagogue (Staronová synagogal – dating back to 1270.
After the tour we treated to a culinary delight at the Michelin star restaurant - the elegant Mlýnec restaurant. This was not just a lunch, this was a theatrical food experience. Each dish was a work of art and tasted divine.
The Mlýnec Restaurant is a refined, modern restaurant an elegant but minimal design, creating a calm and high-end setting. The understated interior with floor to ceiling windows. enable you to see views of Charles Bridge and the river. The concept centres on modern Czech cuisine. Traditional flavours reworked with a lighter, contemporary approach.
After lunch we headed to the river for a scenic Vltava River cruise with Prague Boats—offering a fresh perspective of the city’s iconic skyline.
Our next stop was a hands-on ceramic decorating workshop, organized by Passion for Prague, blending creativity with local culture. Our creative juices flowed and we all created a work of art with painting either a ceramic mug, cup or bowl.
After this we were taken on a tour of the old town where we took saw the smallest road, the Frank Kafka statue and The Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia is a former 13th-century convent tucked just off the Old Town. It’s now part of the National Gallery, focused on medieval and early Renaissance art, but the building is really the draw. Inside the walls are stripped back, with Gothic halls, stone walls, vaulted ceilings. It’s quiet, atmospheric, and a complete shift from the noise outside. It has outside space and would be a unique venue for an event.
We had an evening at the vibrant MÁJ House of Fun. This is made up of many floors of pure entertainment – arcades, a historic 4D cinema experience, you can hang out with DC and Marvel wax work characters. It has roof top which showcases Prague with stunning 360 views over the city. The Fly Vista Restaurant and bar the floor below is Clean, modern, which is built around a central marble bar with panoramic glass views. It shifts from bright and polished by day to darker and more atmospheric at night. This is where we had dinner in the private dining room, the food was a family style sharing platters, the service was good and we were well looked after.
Day 3: Collaboration & Farewell
The final day began with check-out and a transfer to Almanac X Alcron Prague. Here, participants attended a business workshop, connecting with additional hotels, venues, and DMCs, followed by a site inspection.
The journey concluded with a farewell lunch at Prague Marriott Hotel. Lunch was a true culinary experience. It was an experience of traditional, locally sourced ingredients, every course was consistently delicious. It was a journey through Prague’s flavours.
After our farewell lunch, Ondrej Vitovsky gave us an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen. It was inspiring to see the incredible passion of award-winning Head Chef David Rejhon for sustainability in action. Nothing goes to waste, unused ingredients are thoughtfully transformed into vinegars, pickles, and powders, showcasing sustainability creativity.
The Prague Marriott Hotel offers over 300 elegant rooms and suites with modern comforts, along with 16 versatile meeting rooms and a grand ballroom. The hotel’s Mosaic Bar & Lounge provides a stylish yet welcoming setting, serving locally inspired, seasonal cuisine alongside an extensive selection of drinks and cocktails, while the contemporary décor throughout blends comfort with subtle local touches.
Before heading home, I checked out Charles Bridge. I was very much looking forward to seeing this as I had heard so much about and it didn’t disappoint. Charles Bridge is a 14th-century stone bridge linking Prague’s Old Town with the Lesser Town, lined with baroque statues and offering some of the best views in the city.
After this I visited the MÁJ House of Fun and experienced a last view of Prague as well the 4D interactive cinema experience, which took you through the history of Prague. After this I came up close with the Marvel and DC wax work characters. You can really get amongst the characters and hold Mjölnir (Thor’s hammer), try Thanos’ infinity gauntlet.
