Finland...that will be snow, Lapland and the Northern Lights. But what if we told you it was that and much more. So much so that we believe it to be an ideal place for meetings, conferences and incentives all year around.
Working with the Finland Convention Bureau we discovered that as much as winter in Finland is quite spectacular. It also offers so much across the other seasons. This is why moving forward, we are opening up Finland to our clients and private groups.
Let's start with what you may not know. The land of the midnight sun offers so much in terms or natural beauty, culture and activities. In around a 3 hour flight from the UK you could be trekking or cycling through such a picturesque, tranquil landscape. Added to that you could also see a few brown bears in their natural habitat. For those outside the UK or with satellite offices across the world. Finland also connects with most major airports globally on a regular basis. So again ideal for those wanting to bring all corporate locations together in one place.
The water activities are endless and boast some amazing white water rafting, kayaking and canoe opportunities. Those who like slightly calmer waters may wish to simply sail the coastline - 1,100 kilometres long, with countless beautiful islands and coastal indentations. If that all seems a little too adventurous you could look at golf, fishing or try the many outdoor saunas.
The compact size of Finnish cities makes it easy to explore them on foot. Tours connected with design, arts and history will provide food for thought. Culinary experiences can include cooking classes and tastings in breweries or distilleries. All the main hotel brands are also represented. So you can have a fantastic choice for your main point of stay, along with all the necessary conference and meeting facilities being covered.
But of course you may look for that bucket list option with snow, Lapland and the Northern Lights. March is generally regarded as the best time to view the Aurora...although no guarantee. One of the many benefits of working with FCB is their local knowledge. We were told another possible option to view is at the very start from mid/late September. It may also be a great option for those not wanting the cold and snow!
Winter activities come in the form of snowmobile, dog sledge and reindeer safaris, winter driving academies, snow karting, ice breaker cruises and more. In wintertime buildings crafted from snow and ice are great for hosting dinners and get-togethers – or even spending the night, if feeling adventurous.
These are just some of the reasons we believe you should be considering Finland as a potential MICE destination. For more information, or if you would like to discuss with the team your options for Finland, get in touch directly - email@example.com
