Split Happens - We were in Croatia for The Meetings Space

Our Corporate Team were in Croatia last week for The Meetings Space Summer event. It was our Director / Founder James Bacon's first experience in the destination and it certainly left an impression.

"It was a short snapshot of what Croatia has to offer in events. But from what I experience in just a couple of days, showed me enough that it is well set up for conference and incentive events."

Le Méridien Lav Split -

A fantastic option to host conference and incentive events. The outdoor space has variety enough to be creative with your reception style or networking events. The marina is stunning and allows access to activities on the sea or a sunset cruise into the beautiful Old Town of Split. The pool and beach areas are also great spaces for events of a more relaxed nature, provided amazing views across the water.

We had plenty of productive supplier meetings which were conducted in the main conference space. Again, this took many of us by surprise - pleasantly of course. It was bright, spacious and with large windows overlooking the sea. The break out space was vast with a lovely outdoor terrace that was well utilised during the meeting breaks.

On a need to know basis, the hotel also have a private night club which works well for any after party. With the region know for it's music as many dance festivals are now based out in Croatia across the summer. You can ensure you have some top entertainment for the evening.

**Note the club is not open to the public, just for private events only.

Activities:

Due to time we were limited in what we could cover. But what we did was simply amazing. The welcome reception at Gooshers Bar on the marina was a great space. With a first class BBQ and cocktails, we were also treated to a fire act display and a great DJ across the evening.

After the first round of meetings I chose to go for the driving tour experience. We headed out of the hotel in vintage cars and camper vans. We set out around 12km to reach the breath taking Fortress Klis. It not only is a historic local site, but it also served as Meereen City for Game of Thrones. The views from up there were amazing across the region and we were also treated to a sword and archery masterclass experience.

After a quick freshen up and change, we then set out on in effect a pirate style ship. Cruising along the coast from the hotel to the Old Town, we were treated to a prosecco reception and beautiful sunset.

A short stroll through the old town, we then had our evening event at a 3rd century cathedral. Quite simply an amazing venue and one that will bring the wow factor to any reception or gala dinner event.

Summary:

For a first introduction to Split and Croatia, it certainly gave enough to show how well it can work for meetings, events and incentives. It's just a 2 hour flight from the UK, which if you asked many, I doubt they would think it was that close? we can't wait to discuss with our clients and look forward to returning and uncovering more soon!
